MARY BRAY GALLAGHER, MBA, APR
Principal, Calliope Communications
Mary Bray Gallagher is the principal/owner of Calliope Communications. Her firm focuses on strategy development, marketing, public relations, advertising, special events, and business writing. Ms. Gallagher also serves as an adjunct instructor for the SUNY Cobleskill School of Business.
She is an Accredited Member of the Public Relations Society of America (APR), having demonstrated broad knowledge, experience, competence and professional judgment in the field. Only a handful of Capital Region public relations practitioners hold this national accreditation.
Before founding Calliope Communications in 2004, Ms. Gallagher served for nearly nine years in various corporate communication management roles, including director of corporate communications, for Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan, Inc. (CDPHP) where she was responsible for advertising, public relations, and community relations. Previously, she was an account executive at Communication & Design Agency and marketing manager and community relations specialist at Trustco Bank.
Ms. Gallagher currently serves on the board of directors of the Capital Region Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, and is also Accreditation Chair. She is a past board member of Mohawk Pathways Girl Scout Council, the Capital Region chapter of the American Marketing Association, and past chair of the Capital Leadership Steering Committee of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Gallagher is a graduate of the Chamber’s Capital Leadership program and was named to the 2003 Business Review “40 Under Forty”. She graduated cum laude from Ithaca College with a B.S. in communications management and received her master of business administration with a marketing concentration from Sage Graduate School.
Calliope Communications is a member of the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce.
